Course description: This course will give a broad overview over the basics of genome research. The first session will cover planning a genome project, next-generation sequencing technologies, and the basic workflow. Practical exercises include an introduction to the command line and how to process raw read data using bioinformatic tools. The second day focuses on genome assembly and annotation, and will provide a general discussion of best practices regarding data management and sharing.
Target Group: The course is for all ZMT Alumni and Doctoral Candidates at ZMT. Guest researchers and interested Postdocs can participate as well.
