Information pursuant to Art. 13 and 14 General Data Protection Regulation

Compliance with data protection regulations is very important to our company. In the following we would like to inform you about the collection of your personal data:
Responsible party
Responsible for collecting and processing data is the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) GmbH, Fahrenheitstraße 6, 28359 Bremen. E-mail: contact@leibniz-zmt.de
Data we need
We collect the following personal data from you: name, working group, status and e-mail address. Your personal data will be processed for the purpose of course registration and will be stored so that we can issue certificates for all courses you attended at the end of your stay at ZMT. We keep a file (Excel file) in which we store this information.
This is based on the General Data Protection Regulation Art. 6 Para. 1 Sentence 1 Letter b.
Data erasure
All personal data collected by us will be erased after you have left ZMT (1 year after termination).
Confidentiality of your data
We will of course treat your data confidentially and will not pass them on to third parties.
In some individual cases we may be obliged by law to transmit data to third parties. However, these obligations do not apply generally but can only arise in specific individual cases.
Your privacy rights:
As a data subject, you have the right to obtain information on personal data stored about you, and to have incorrect data corrected or deleted if one of the reasons stated in Art. 17 GDPR applies, e.g. if the data are no longer required for the purposes for which they were collected. Furthermore, you are entitled to restrict data processing if one of the conditions specified in Art. 18 GDPR (Right to restriction of processing) applies and to demand the transfer of data pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR (Right to Data Portability).
Every data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if he or she thinks that data concerning him or her have been processed in breach of data protection regulations. The data subject may exercise her/his right of appeal in particular before a supervisory authority in the Member State where she/he resides or works or where the alleged infringement has been committed.
