Dinamica EGO presents outstanding possibilities for the design of spatial models, from analytical to the very complex dynamic ones. These models can ultimately involve nested iterations, dynamic feedbacks, multi-region and multi-scale approach, manipulation and algebraic combination of data in several format, dynamic coupling with R and Python code, decision processes for bifurcating and joining execution of pipelines, and a series of spatial algorithms for parallel processing of big-data, including imagery classification, and simulation of space-time phenomena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Dinamica EGO has been applied to numerous environmental studies, including the modeling of deforestation, land-use change, forestry rents, cattle ranching and agriculture, fire propagation, river regime, biodiversity, land-use policy evaluation, and high-spatial resolution mapping. See list of publications at <a href=\"https:\/\/dinamicaego.com\/publications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dinamica EGO &#8211; Publications<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The course aims to introduce the vast possibilities of <strong>Dinamica EGO<\/strong> for the design and operation of spatial models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Program <\/strong>(duration 8 hours):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Brief theory on land-use change modeling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visual interface, library of algorithms and user\u2019s submodels, and visual programming language<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design, calibration, validation, and operation of land use change model.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Examples of applications of Dinamica EGO, including fire spread, carbon cycling and CO<sub>2 <\/sub>emissions, spatially-explicit land-use change.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Experience with GIS or environmental modeling.
